Sizzlin’ Braves Win Ninth in a Row


Dan Uggla’s determination to beat out a potential inning-ending double-play grounder allowed Justin Upton to cross the plate and give the Braves a lead Craig Kimbrel preserved in Saturday’s 5-4, 12-inning win over the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.  The Braves have won nine in a row and lead the Washington Nationals by 11.5 games in the National League Eastern Division.   Brandon Beachy pitched 6 1/3 solid innings, giving up 3 earned runs and a strikeout to aid the Braves in the victory.

Brandon Beachy pitched a solid 6 1/3 innings on Saturday, helping the Atlanta Braves win their ninth game in a row.
