Lincoln Not a Christian Before Entering Office

There are writings that indicate that Abraham Lincoln was not a believer of Jesus Christ before he assumed the office of President of the United States of America, or that he ever became one.

If one were to use his second Inaugural address as evidence though, it could be assumed that Lincoln had come to the conclusion that God intervenes in human affairs in order to accomplish His objectives.

It’s no doubt that God had his hand on Abraham Lincoln as our nation was on the verge of splitting into two feuding nations, much like Israel and Judah, whom as separate factions repeatedly were vulnerable to enemy kingdoms as at one time or another, at least one of the factions pursued iniquity in lieu of the righteousness of Jehovah.

Though it could be argued that the Christian credentials of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump are shaky, it is noteworthy that Michelle Bachmann noticed an air of humility surrounding Mr. Trump when he said Thursday night at the RNC in Cleveland:

“At this moment, I would like to thank the evangelical and religious community because I’ll tell you what, the support they’ve given me, and I’m not sure I totally deserve it, has been so awesome and has had such a big reason for me being here tonight.”

Whether that is an indication of how a President Trump will conduct business remains to be seen.  God always gives nations the leader that they deserve and not necessarily the one that they need.  It remains to be seen whether God’s mercy allows for America to receive the follower of Christ that she so definitely needs.  God used Abraham Lincoln, presumably a non-Christian to preserve our nation and help it break an entire race of people out of  the chains of slavery.  Perhaps a President Donald Trump will be that willing vessel to follow the guidance of The Original Light.  It’s obvious that the past eight years have not produced such fruit.  Time will tell if that trend will change.

Montel Williams “Tolerance” Not Scriptural

As of late, it has been the trend among some evangelical mega-churches and political conservatives to tip toe around the issue of same gender sexual relationships with a sinful “tolerance” in order to avoid offending members of the LGBTQ community.   Recently, television personality Montel Williams chastised conservatives for discriminating against this group, saying that the book of Galatians warns against this in verses twenty six through twenty eight of the third chapter of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Galatia.

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

The problem with this quotation of scripture is that it doesn’t address the issue of sexual sin.  Sexual activity outside of marriage is not acceptable to engage in.  It is sin.  Scripture from the books of Leviticus and Romans makes it crystal clear that same gender sexual activity is an abomination in the sight of the Lord, and that continual engagement in such activity will result in one being left by the Spirit of the Lord to his or her own depraved mind.  In order to draw closer to God, one must follow the directives of the Holy Spirit.  It is only a matter of time before one engaging in homosexual practices who claims to be a follower of The Original Light:  The Great I Am and a lover of the commands and ways of our Lord Jesus will be confronted with this violation of God’s Law by the Holy Spirit.  Failure to comply with a directive given by the Holy Spirit eventually does result in a falling away from the face and grace of The Original Light:  The Great I Am.

Tim Tebow Chastised for Doing the Right Thing

We live in a society that gives most of its attention to those who are self-indulgent and live for the if it feels good do it moment.  Rap stars, rock stars, movie stars, and athletes with the bling bling (Mr. T. Starter Kits) hanging around their necks, appendages, and sticking into and out of their facial orifices receive the attention from a society that is thirsty for vile, vulgar, erotic, and sexually provocative conduct.  Those individuals who choose to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ receive attention from people, but in a world where everything seems to be inside out and upside down, that attention tends to be negative and critical rather than being framed the way it should be.  Former Heisman Trophy winner and short term pro-athlete Tim Tebow once again has received that kind of treatment from commenters at various publications for praying with the distraught wife of a man who was fighting for his life on a Delta airlines flight.  According to CBN News, several posters dealt Mr. Tebow such insults as, “What a putz,” simply for doing what any compassionate Christian would be expected to do.

The treatment Mr. Tebow receives from a skeptical, increasingly non-Christian public is a sad commentary on the reluctance of  people to follow the guidance of Jesus, and be a reflection of The Original Light, but rather instead are more likely to be a beacon for Lucifer, the counterfeit light, who leads individuals on paths to destruction.  Tim Tebow’s contributions to society stand alone as a testament to what he is all about.  His foundation,, states its mission as being to  “bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need”.  It also states that it is Mr. Tebow’s desire to use the public platform that God has blessed (him) with “to inspire and make a difference in peoples lives throughout the world”.  It’s sad that Tim Tebow doesn’t receive more praise for trying to live for Jesus and make this world a better place, but one has to remember that Jesus Himself was crucified by a cruel and Godless humanity even as he died to forgive the sins of all who would accept such a gracious and merciful gift.
