Although it seems that saving one’s sexual purity for marriage is a rare occurrence, it is refreshing to hear an occasional voice telling youth that it is possible to do so. In the sports world, quarterbackTim Tebow was often ridiculed by non-Christians for his often public profession of his faith in Christ, and was even sometimes made fun of for vowing to maintain sexual purity before marriage, but Mr. Tebow has remained humble and ever so gracious in his servitude to our Lord and Savior, Jesus, The Original Light. He often gives of his time and money for others, and uses his platform to glorify God.
Recently, Billy Hallowell, who writes for The Blaze, and in this case Deseret News, published an article about Inside Edition correspondent Megan Alexander. Mrs. Alexander, like Mr. Tebow, has managed to have a career in the public eye and remain true to her Christian values and faith in Jesus.
Mrs. Alexander has recently published a book titled Faith in the Spotlight: Thriving in Your Career While Staying True to Your Beliefs, in which she shares her practical advice for achieving excellence in career, faith, and family and gives us an honest look at thriving in a secular industry as a believer. Her courage in sharing her obedience to God’s call for sexual purity in her youth and young adulthood is to be admired, as so many youth might be empowered to make the same stand in the face of intense peer pressure with the encouragement from someone who is Exhibit A that it can be done, and that God favors those who honor Him.
