The Progressive Assault on Christian Higher Education

Seattle Pacific University, which proclaims on its website that it is “a place where 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students gain a superb education grounded on the gospel of Jesus Christ — and the tools to influence the world for good”, is in the midst of a full blown attack by Satan’s LGBTQ army.  In an article posted at The Falcon, SPU student Athena Duran featured students whom are members of The Haven, an LGBTQ club that is sanctioned by the university.  It focused on the comfort and/ or discomfort felt by these students in a Christian environment.  Given the fact that the university has even hosted an LGBTQ leadership conference, one has to question the spiritual discernment of the members of the faculty and administration at Seattle Pacific.

As followers of Christ, believers should be welcoming to all people.  However, they should not be condoning conduct that is sinful according to God’s Holy Word, regardless of how uncomfortable it makes those who insist on continuing in the debauchery of a reprobate lifestyle.

Many students at SPU have been grumbling at the hiring of Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Sandra Mayo, whom reportedly holds the position of adhering to “Biblical standards” on sexuality.  Such complaining prompts one of a reasonable mind to ask the question, “If one is opposed to the adherence to Biblical standards, why would he or she choose to attend a Christian oriented university in the first place?”

Former Vikings punter says he lost job due to stance on gay marriage

Shayn Roby’s Take: Saying ‘We should round up all the gays, send them to an island, and then nuke it until it glows.’ is an over the top statement if one is truly seeking to exemplify the love of Christ toward those that are lost. However, there’s absolutely no doubt about whether those insisting on continuing to live a homosexual lifestyle are intentionally defiant toward what God’s Holy Word tells us or not. If Chris Kluwe is being truthful about the comment Mike Priefer allegedly made about sending all the gays to an island and nuking it, then indeed the special teams coach is mean-spirited. However, Kluwe is still missing an important point. He (Kluwe) reports that Priefer said that the only Truth is Jesus Christ. Because the eternal fate of all sinners who do not acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ will be that of eternal damnation in the lake of fire and infinite separation from God, that particular part of what Kluwe refers to as ‘intolerance’ is actually the exercise of religious freedom and an actual mandate from the Son of God to perform. The key is that such a conversation needs to be one that is delivered with wisdom and at a point where it does not appear to come from a position of ridicule and harassment, but out of a general concern for the death and pain that a sinful life causes. That means this conversation should have taken place in a situation where it was a one on one discussion rather than a public debate that may have been directly targeted at Kluwe. As far is ‘tolerance’ is concerned, Jesus told the prostitute to “Go and sin no more.” He DID NOT say, “Hang loose sister and swing low. Now go turn tricks and have an orgy to your heart’s desire.”

For The Win

In an article posted to Deadspin entitled “I Was An NFL Player Until I Was Fired By Two Cowards And A Bigot,” former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe alleges that he lost his job as Vikings punter because of his public support of gay marriage.

The article looks back at Kluwe’s 2012 season and alleged interactions he had with former head coach Leslie Frazier, general manager Rick Spielman, and special-teams coordinator Mike Priefer. Kluwe writes that Frazier and Spielman (the “cowards” from the article’s title) were made uncomfortable by his public support of gay marriage. Kluwe also states that Priefer, who Kluwe refers to as the “bigot,” was openly hostile to Kluwe about his support of gay rights, and Kluwe says he believes Priefer was the one directly responsible for him losing his job.

Kluwe says he is writing the article now to “make sure that Mike Priefer never holds…

A&E suspends Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson; Katie Pavlich, others rip ‘crap’ decision

Shayn Roby’s Take: A&E continues the trend of media to try to muzzle those who proclaim God’s Holy Word as Truth. A&E added itself to list of those who would endeavor to unleash the wrath and judgement of Jehovah on our nation as they insist on defending the sin of homosexuality, which the Holy Bible clearly states is an abomination in the sight of the Lord.

Church jury verdict: 30 day suspension for Lebanon pastor | WPMT FOX43

Any pastor that would contemplate performing a same sex wedding ceremony should seriously evaluate why he or she is in ministry.  One of God’s most holy vows is made into a mockery by giving the consent of the Church to a situation that virtually guarantees that sin viewed by the Lord as an abomination will continue.  http://fox43.com/2013/11/19/church-jury-verdict-30-day-suspension-for-lebanon-pastor/

What Does The Bible Say About Homosexuality & Gay Marriage?

Shayn Roby’s Take: Romans 1:24-32

New International Version (NIV)

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
God’s Holy Word is very explicit. To not make those practicing a homosexual lifestyle aware of what the Bible says about this sin would be wrong. Allowing someone to burn in hell for their sin without speaking up actually is a selfish act devoid of love if one is to think of it from an eternal perspective.

Kamala Harris Calls for Same-Sex Marriages to Resume ‘Immediately’

The editor of ShaynRoby.com fears that California and the United States of America have now had the hedge of protection removed from around its people. The onslaught of the Assyrians may indeed proceed as it did on September 11, 2001 and as it did against Israel more than 2,500 years ago as recorded in the book of Isaiah in God’s Holy Word.        (H/T: Joseph Farah and Jonathan Cahn)

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris urged the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday to lift its stay and allow same-sex marriages to resume immediately.

Wednesday’s order by the Supreme Court instructs the 9th Circuit to lift its stay on the original ruling in 2010 by U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker that found California’s controversial Proposition 8 was unconstitutional.

The appellate court put a hold on Walker’s decision pending the resolution of the legal fight.

The Supreme Court decision paved the way for gay marriages to resume in California, ruling the private sponsors of Proposition 8 did not have legal standing to appeal after the ballot measure was struck down by a federal judge in San Francisco.
