Evangelism at Oceanside, CA

Shayn Roby’s Take: More than ever before, intense spiritual warfare abounds toward those who follow Jesus. Those who are under the influence of demonic power are constantly thinking of ways to discredit Christians. It is for this reason that a life of intense prayer is the one that bears the most fruit. The editor of ShaynRoby.com understands this, but has to admit that he stumbles frequently when trying to fight battles within the flesh against the Godless, rather than allowing the Great I Am and The Lamb of God to fight those battles.

The Domain for Truth

Russ Last Friday, I announced at the men’s study that we will take a brief break from our usual study in order to go evangelizing to the masses.  Taking a brief break from our study will give us an opportunity to apply what we learn about Jesus by sharing Him with lost sinners.  Living for Jesus is not only learning about Jesus, but serving as an ambassador of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).  When I think about living for Jesus, I am reminded of a particular portion of prayer from the Valley of Vision, entitled, “Living for Jesus.”  This is what the prayer states:

Thy name is excellent,

thy glory high,

thy compassions unfailing,

thy condescension wonderful,

thy mercy tender.

I bless thee for the discoveries, invitations,

promises of the gospel

for in them is pardon for rebels,

liberty for captives,

health for the sick,

salvation for…

President Obama Calls on Iranian President to Release American Pastor Saeed Abedini

Shayn Roby’s Take: Although enduring persecution for the sake of Christ is to be expected as a consequence of spiritual warfare, our prayers are for God’s will to be done, but at the same time, that the suffering of Pastor Saeed Abedini and his family will come to an abrupt halt.

Saeed Abedini is seen with his family.

Fox News is reporting that a senior Obama Administration official has confirmed that President Obama has called for the release of American Pastor Saeed Abedini in a phone conversation today with Iranian President Rouhani.

The source stated  that President Obama raised Pastor Saeed’s case along with two other Americans directly with the Iranian President.  According to the report, President Obama raised concerns about the imprisonment of Saeed and expressed our country’s interest in seeing the American pastor returned to his family.

While Secretary of State Kerry has called on Iran to release Pastor Saeed,  this is the first time that President Obama has himself spoken out about the wrongfully imprisoned U.S.  citizen.

On behalf of the Abedini family, we’re very encouraged by President Obama raising the illegal imprisonment of Pastor Saeed. Today’s call is a significant step forward in this critical case.

We’re also grateful to President Obama for raising…

Spiritual Warfare–Historic Non-Stop Prayer Sweeps Muslim Indonesia

Shayn Roby’s Take:  Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Indonesian Christians intercede for their country.  It is precisely that kind of dedication to prayer that will be required to bring the United States of America back to God.  The Lord’s hedge of protection around America has been relaxed because, inside the churches, humble, prayerful worship is not nearly prevalent enough.  Jehovah, our Lord God Almighty is grieved at our lack of reverence and regard for His will in our daily lives.

Lyn Leahz

BOGOR, Indonesia — A powerful prayer movement is rising in the world’s largest Muslim nation. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Indonesian Christians intercede for their country.

It was a scene never witnessed before in Indonesia’s history.

“I don’t know another nation on earth like Indonesia where the church has become so passionate and united in prayer,” Tom Victor, with the American-basedGreat Commission Coalition, said.

A Worldwide Prayer Call

Last year, more than 9,000 Christians from around the world descended on the Indonesian archipelago for a massive prayer gathering led by scores of Indonesian churches united to see the name of Jesus Christ lifted.

Dr. Bambang Widjaya was a key architect of the event.

“We can see the zeal, not only among the evangelical or Pentecostals, but also in the mainline churches and Catholic that we need to…
